Southern Quebec is a region with high potential for the discovery of strategic minerals and critical metals.
With the exception ofthe former Saint-Robert mine, the region is relatively underexplored for these metals, but the geology contains most of the elements necessary for deposit formation.
The high-potential porphyry mineralization area is located insouthern Quebec, more specifically near the Quebec-Maine (United States) border.
The granophilemineralization associated with the porphyry (and associated quartz veins) is most often polymetallic in nature and composed of Pb-Ag-Zn-W-Bi.
The mineralization of interest in this region is closely associated with Devonian intrusions, and exploration targets are primarily located in the Siluro-Devonian Appalachian formations.
